Collection: Samae Koskinen

Samae Koskinen started his career as the frontman of an indie band, but soon found himself in the middle of a solo career. The radio hit “Hän asuu näillä kulmilla” from his first album and the Emma nomination for the album that followed “Elossa” were soon followed by a series of great songs and concerts. Samae has been performing for years, either solo with an acoustic guitar or with a varying lineup, all over Finland, very adaptable from libraries and pubs to large concert halls.

Samae has become known in his solo career as a songwriter who makes small things great. However, on his ninth album, "Mä näin unta että kaikki meni hyvin", released on April 26th, Samae focuses focuses on finding joy in the small things.

“In the fall of 2023, I had enough. The government's far-right connections, the misogyny surrounding athletes' dirty tricks, the classless label in online discussions, and the generally cold atmosphere made me think about what I was doing and why. I had stayed away from taking a stand on anything with my art and wrote everything related to my values ​​between the lines. One reason was fear, the other was the desire to please. Then I started thinking about my role models: Bad Religion, Rage Against the Machine, and Bob Dylan had made me genuinely reflect on my own choices and values. How I face the world, what power is, and what it does to a person. I decided that I would make songs in which I take a stand. I comment on coldness, injustice, and hatred.”
