Kiska for artists
Kiska for artists
Kiska Merchandise Oy offers artists a smooth merchandise production service, from ideation to implementation and sales at the artist's gigs and in Kiska's own online store.
Kiska's job is to be the artist's right hand and ensure seamless cooperation with the necessary partners so that the right products, order quantities and quality requirements are realized. This requires Kiska's solid expertise and networks: graphic designers, product manufacturers, printing houses and precision experts.
You can trust Kiska when considering materials, product selection and order size distributions, but also when choosing sustainable solutions. Kiska's founder and CEO Viivi Vähälä has years of experience in the vintage industry, and Kiska's operations always take into account domesticity, material circulation, ethics and product safety.
Kiska aims for optimal rotation and avoids excessive production so that the artists' product range changes naturally as inventory decreases and, for example, in connection with a new tour or album release, the previous inventory is successfully sold off. These last pieces previously in stock or defective products created during production are also processed and renewed, for example by hand-dyeing or removing color. This gives the products a new life and a unique “limited edition” collection is ready. Kiska ideas, designs and implements product tuning if necessary and always together with the customer.
There are many ways to use surplus stock. In the summer of 2023, a denim collection was created, combining vintage denim products (jackets, skirts, dresses and vests) and surplus stock (fabric bags). Viivin Vintage was responsible for the ideation and procurement of materials for the collection, and Maarit Harju of NahkaNikkari was responsible for the implementation. Since the popularity of the collection was surprising and the selection was supplemented almost weekly, a batch of vintage leather jackets and vests was also implemented in the fall of 2023 for the 40lavi party gigs. Later in the summer of 2024, the idea of a unique vintage denim collection was also implemented for Ursus Factory. Close cooperation with NahkaNikkari continues, as new products have been created in Kiska, such as drawstring backpacks and belt bags made from second-quality fabric bags from the production.
Kiska has been a pioneer in organizing various pop-up and meet & greet events in addition to the actual gigs. Kiska's idea has been to make artists' music and merchandise available in shopping malls and on gig days at venues well before the big day. These events ensure that even those without tickets and minors can shop for sold-out or age-restricted gigs.
In addition to customer experience, Kiska focuses on presentation, decoration and functionality. Kiska designs artist collections, which can include jewelry, accessories, cards, pins and stickers in addition to traditional textile and poster products. Each collection is designed and produced to reflect the artist, their music and values.
Kiska's logo and graphic design are designed by the equally talented Bifu. It was obvious to Viivi that after years of successful collaboration, Bifu was the right choice for the graphics. Viivi's inspiration for Kiska's logo and color scheme was fairgrounds, circuses, playfulness and colorfulness, and all of this is perfectly reflected in Kiska's world.
